POSITION OBJECTIVE
Under the general direction of the senior director of admissions, the director of admissions, senior recruiter has overall responsibility for all activities related to the recruitment of students of assigned graduate programs at the Weatherhead School of Management. The director leads the recruitment and interview process for assigned programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee the recruiting and admissions process to ensure activities within the process are delivered on time and seamlessly and enrollment goals are met. Assessing an applicant¿s fit, selling and negotiating are key to enrolling the most qualified students. Consult with associate deans and faculty directors of MBA and/or specialty programs as assigned by senior director of admissions to determine profile of desired applicant pool. Facilitate strategy discussion and execute recruiting activities utilizing cost effective search methodologies and tools. Set prospective student communication plan from the point of initial contact through matriculation. Respond to queries from prospective students and applicants. Complete a thorough analysis of all recruitment activities with an eye towards implementing more effective and efficient activities. (30%)
Develop a sourcing strategy and provide direction to generate leads, cold calling, internal/external networking to identify applicants and build networks. This includes building a pipeline through established networks with professionals. Build relationships with key contacts at targeted undergraduate colleges and universities for recruitment purpose. Participate in the development of recruitment publications in conjunction with other team members. Benchmark Weatherhead recruiting activities with other business schools. (30%)
Organize and host recruitment events, student information meetings and campus visits with a purpose of driving applications. Represent Weatherhead at recruitment, marketing events, and other activities. Provide input for marketing materials. Track and analyze effectiveness of marketing initiatives and activities. (20%)
Responsible for managing all assessment activities, including leading the interview process, reading of applications, updated Slate and customer relationship management (CRM) software, and managing matriculation and yield to goal. (20%)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Benchmark Weatherhead recruiting activities with other business schools. Conduct research to identify additional ways to reach target group and referral sources. (<1%)
Perform other duties as assigned. (<1%)
CONTACTS
Department: Continuous contact with all Weatherhead faculty and staff for the purpose of recruiting students.
University: Regular contact with Case Western Reserve University admissions, IT, security and facilities personnel among others for recruiting efforts.
External: Continuous contact with prospective students, alumni, friends of Weatherhead and outside vendors for recruiting efforts.
Students: Continuous contact with Weatherhead students and occasional contact with students from other schools within the University for the purpose of recruiting students.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No direct supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 or more years of successful experience in sales, recruiting or admissions roles. Prefer direct experience in recruiting graduate business students. Prefer some background in executive search and corporate recruiting
Education/Licensing: Bachelor¿s degree required, MBA or Master¿s degree in business, marketing, human resources or related field preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong marketing, sales and business development experience.
Experience developing people and managing processes.
Experience managing a budget, including setting budgets and budgetary priorities, forecasting, and meeting targets.
Demonstrated history of responsibility for and success at exceeding sales goals. Proven success recruiting top talent.
Knowledge of executive search and talent acquisition processes and methodology, search tools and technology.
Superior interpersonal, listening and oral and written communications skills, including excellent presentation skills essential.
Ability to engage with a variety of constituents (corporate partners, civic leaders, prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, etc.) from many different cultural backgrounds.
Superior organizational skills; ability to manage micro and macro objectives and ability to execute multiple objectives concurrently.
Ability to navigate organizations and processes to achieve goals.
Proficiency with MS office and managing databases required.
Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.
Ability to meet consistent attendance.
Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office working environment. Evening and some weekend work required. Extensive domestic and international travel required.
